Travis Morrison to Retire?

I'm choosing not to believe it.

Galaxie 500 - "This Is Our Music"

Like the Jason Anderson album below, this album also has a song about the Fourth of July! This is also probably my favorite Galaxie 500 album, even though Today and On Fire are arguably way better. In related Galaxie 500 news, all three of their full-lengths have been reissued, so if you're into that sort of thing, go find them. Or just listen to this. Whatever.

This Is Our Music, 1990 / Download

Notable Tracks: "Listen, the Snow is Falling," "Fourth of July." / RIYL (via Last.fm): Chapterhouse, My Bloody Valentine, Pale Saints, Spaceman 3, Slowdive.

Jason Anderson - "The Hopeful and the Unafraid"

This album has a song about the Fourth of July on it. In celebration of the forthcoming holiday, I figured I'd post it. Also, even though Jason Anderson is on K Records, this album is basically Bruce Springsteen for 2000 and beyond. Don't question it.

The Hopeful and the Unafraid, 2008 / Download

Notable Tracks: "July 4, 2004," "El Paso," "This Will Never Be Our Town." / RIYL (via Last.fm): Paul Baribeau, Deer Tick, the Halo Benders, Samamidon, Thanksgiving.

Lots and Lots of Assorted Dan Deacon

I just posted about Whartscape, so here's a shitload of Dan Deacon to, like, augment that. Some of it is worth listening to (Bromst and Spiderman of the Rings are easily the most accessible albums), and some of it has a, well...questionable existence (like all 40 minutes of A Green Cobra is Awesome...). Regardless, enjoy.
